Tin Gazivoda

OSIFE Senior Program Officer

Tin Gazivoda is a senior program officer leading the work on the Open Source Democracy portfolio and the Open Society European Network (OSEN). Tin’s relationship with OSF goes back - from 2003 to 2006 he was a member of the Board of OSI Croatia. In 2010 Tin became the OSF Advisor for Croatia working under the supervision of the Regional Director for the Western Balkans, while from 2014 he served as OSIFE senior advisor and started exploratory work on new forms of activism.
His background prior to OSF is mainly related to human rights work in Croatia, including in the troubled nineties. Tin was the Director of the Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights until 2003 and then became the Coordinator of the Human Rights Center. He was also one of the founders of the Academy for Political Development in Croatia (Council of Europe´s school of political studies) as well as a member of the parliamentary based Council for Civic Oversight of the Security and Intelligence Services (2003 – 2007).
Tin holds a BA international relations and a MA in international policy studies from Stanford University. In 2012 he received a PHD from the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Zagreb. His thesis focused on the role of civil society in the democratic transformation of Croatia.
